Many a time I take a moment to reflect on how my life has changed in a relatively short time, and I give thanks for the happiness and peace that overcome me at present. Perhaps one of my biggest lessons in life has been to learn to embrace and be open to change , and at last I seem to be more accepting and even celebrating of it.
In the last 6 months ; I have married my soul-mate and readily share my space with a significant other; I have been to New Zealand and met and got to know new extended family; I have loosened the 'apron strings' [a bit] and have had to accept that my daughters are grown up and capable of managing their own lives [ sometimes I still wonder though];I have moved from beloved Fish Hoek, dogs and cats in tow, to Klipriver in Gauteng; my farm girl roots have resurfaced and I'm loving living in the country;I have reconnected with old friends from the past.....and so the list goes on....
So for the moment I revel in the change that has led me to where I am right now, knowing that there is more to come, some imminent, some later, some small and some big. A possible new move is on the horizon, but life has taken on a new meaning and because I am happy my creativity has been encouraged and I am so enjoying my art both in watercolours and oils. Creativity is so good for the soul.
I am grateful for each day and look forward to what tomorrow has in store.
